Manager, GHER Real World Evidence-TMTT
This is a great opportunity to join the Global Health Economics & Reimbursement (GHER) team that supports successful patient access to the exciting new transcatheter mitral and tricuspid valve technologies (TMTT) at Edwards Lifesciences.
Position Summary: As Manager of Real-World Evidence, you will plan and execute evidence generation strategies using real world data (RWD) to articulate patient unmet needs and overcome market access barriers. This individual acts as a business partner/consultant with cross functional peers within Edwards, to collaboratively achieve business goals and objectives. Our ideal candidate would have experience and interest in advanced analytics or data science. This position reports to the Sr Manager of Real-World Evidence and is available as an Irvine-based position working at the Edwards’ corporate headquarters.
How you will make an impact:
Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to operationalize data requests.
Develop study design and endpoint operationalization.
Collaborate on the execution of analysis plans for assigned studies.
Develop and execute a data management plan across various relational databases.
Programming lead in relational databases to generate research datasets.
Complete descriptive and predictive analyses from research datasets.
Collaborate effectively with data management and statistical programming functions at TMTT and Corporate.
Perform data mining and ad-hoc analyses to explore evidence-based business insights.
Create customized reports to translate research findings and provide insights for stakeholders to make business decisions.
Provide analytic, statistical and data visualization support for internal reports, posters, podium presentations, and peer-reviewed publications.
Assist in authoring results sections of the study reports, abstracts, and publications.
Keep abreast of new developments in statistics, data visualization, and device & drug development through literature review and attendance at workshops and professional meetings.
What you will need (required):
Bachelor's degree in a life science, public health, health policy, statistics, health informatics, data science or related field required.
This individual must have a minimum of 8 years of analytic experience in statistics, data science or outcomes research.
Must be proficient in SQL and R or Python.
Previous job responsibilities include data management, manipulation and cleaning.
Must have sound knowledge of applied statistics.
Experience programming multiple RWD analyses (e.g., claims, EMR, administrative data, adaptive clinical trial designs)
Effective in building trusted business relationships.
Excellent written (business and technical) and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills.
What else we look for (preferred):
Advanced degree (e.g., MPH, MSc, Ph.D.) is highly desirable.
Experience programming multiple RWD analyses (e.g., claims, EMR, administrative data, adaptive clinical trial designs)
Experience applying advanced analytic methods (e.g., machine learning, predictive analysis)
Experience developing prediction models related to health outcomes
Experience using Tableau, Power BI or other data visualization software is a plus.
Participation in peer-reviewed journal publications.
Previous experience in, or strong working knowledge of the medical device industry.
Experience working with external stakeholders such as payers, hospitals, physicians, trade associations, professional and medical organizations to develop mutually beneficial evidence generation strategies and tactics to support portfolio planning, commercialization, and sales/marketing objectives.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $123,000 to $174,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
