Essential Job Function:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate complex business contracts. Partner with business units and functions; Lead the implementation of contract templates, including updating templates according to company guidelines, laws or legal requirements in collaboration with cross functional teams
- Provide legal direction and guidance to business and/or function teams to execute larger, higher visibility, or inter-departmental projects, initiatives and/or programs
- Regularly and proactively advise business teams and functions in legal matters and developments applicable to Edwards operations in Greater India and Southeast Asia; Provide legal and regulation Q&A support to Regional Compliance team in the review and approval of transactions and interactions with health care professionals support regional compliance team with healthcare policies and procedures, development of complex testing templates and metrics for tracking and trending, and providing appropriate guidance to internal stakeholders in the assigned region.
- Provide secretarial support to Edwards India entity, including preparation of agenda and papers for board meetings, committees and Annual General Meetings and follow up of actions. Ensure policies and statutory compliance are up to date and filing of returns and providing advice to the management as and when necessary.
- Identify and lead opportunities for legal process improvements, also partner with Regional Compliance team in compliance process improvements.
Education & Skills:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree or equivalent in Law with 7-10 years relevant experience. Related experience within a law firm and/or Corporate Law Department, and/or healthcare compliance
- Qualified Company Secretary in India with an active Membership of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India
Requirement:
- Represents leadership on legal and compliance topics within multiple areas, interfacing with business and function leaders and middle management including regular contact with company executives, clients in all business units and work with attorneys across the Legal Department, including legal analysts, and support staff
- Solid experience in managing corporate secretarial and governance matters in India
- Expert understanding of effective legal and compliance program standards
- Proven expertise in MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) required; Experience in JDE or SharePoint preferred
- Proven successful project management skills
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
- Excellent creative problem analysis and resolution skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including collaborative and relationship management skills
- Excellent independent problem-solving, critical thinking, and investigative skills

- Extensive understanding of legal, regulatory, and industry landscape to help develop best practices
