VP, General Manager Canada
Lead and manage the Edwards Country organization with full P&L responsibility focusing on driving business performance, sustainable growth, employee performance and number of patients served.
In charge of implementing the Edwards innovation strategy and representing the company towards local authorities and professional associations.
How you'll make an impact:
- Execute Edward’s innovation strategy and drive profitable growth across all business areas
- Implement commercial strategies together with the BU leaders and in alignment with the regional and corporate strategies to deliver the AOP targets
- Accountable for full organization P&L and for delivering financial objectives accelerating growth in Canada
- Direct all customer facing functional area (BUs, marketing, pricing, business intelligence, strategy, Prof Ed, Customer service, tenders and Public Affairs) through multiple levels of management within the company while developing and implementing strategic vision, plans and objectives for the organization in alignment with corporate and regional strategy.
- Implement a comprehensive key account management strategy reinforcing cross-collaboration between business units and the different functions to ultimately accelerate growth and maintain leadership.
- Engage with key opinion leaders along the Edwards’ innovation strategy and create trusting partnerships to advance the number of patients served in Canada
- Deploy patient access strategy and execute highly innovative projects to increase outreach to patients with structural heart disease.
- Lead the Canadian Leadership team to drive commercial success and advance the local talent and people development agenda
- Cultivate and promote a strong company culture consistent with our credo and aspirations and champion/lead local Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives and champion employee engagement.
- Develop a robust talent development plan and succession plan in alignment with functional growth strategies of the department.
- As the highest local authority, represent Edwards towards regulatory bodies, national professional associations and Key Opinion Leaders and is personally accountable for the legal compliance of the country.
- Act as a company spokesperson when requested to promote, build, and protect the company´s reputation.
What you'll need:
- Master's Degree or equivalent, MBA, Marketing, Finance or Business
- Experience as a general manager overseeing cross functional areas and managing/direct exposure to full P&L
- Experience developing and executing complex strategies to drive growth and develop new therapies
- Experience with managing or close exposure to all back-office functions, such as customer service, bids & tenders
- Experience as commercial leader and marketing leader of sizeable business in the medical device business
- Experience in driving new therapies and develop new markets through education, clinical studies and KOL engagement
- Experience in obtaining new reimbursement or implement innovative payment schemes to provide access to new devices or expand indications
- Experience working in a regulated industry

- Expert understanding of related aspects of all functional areas processes and/or systems, such as customer service, contracts & tenders, supply chain, quality, regulatory within their country
- Expert knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to budgeting, P&L management, pricing & reimbursement
- Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
- Serve as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units and Functional Groups outside of Canada
- Ability to work across a matrix organization and interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
- Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
- Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers; interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization
- Dedicated to quality client service and pro-active and responsive to client needs.
- Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions
- Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
