This position will lead the Human Resources function for our Implantable Heart Failure Management (IHFM) teams based at our campus in Naperville, IL, reporting into the General Manager/Corporate VP, sit on the business unit leadership team, and serve as a strategic business partner to executive management on all aspects of Human Resources for the professional and manufacturing teams.
This individual will act as a thought partner to the leadership teams, enabling business growth through predictive analytics, and anticipating business needs. They will partner closely with Edwards HR Centers of Expertise and HR Solutions in devising strategic org and talent plans and overseeing execution efforts related to - talent acquisition, training and development, employee relations, leadership coaching and compensation matters.
The VP of Human Resources will drive the Implantable Heart Failure Management Talent Strategy, while proactively assessing and diagnosing organizational issues in partnership with management, to make recommendations and implement talent solutions to advance both businesses accordingly.
Our ideal candidate is a business-oriented professional with strong consulting skills. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Be the strategic HR business partner to the business unit leadership teams, as well as lead the Human Resources function for both globally, though matrixed relationships with international regions.
Lead initiatives that build trust, employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, and workplace productivity across all levels of employees.
Work closely with the management team to formulate goals and practices that support business strategies.
Function as a change agent to guide client groups through cultural transformation efforts, and drive the organization toward higher performance results, recommending and influencing both the strategic and functional change.
Provide leadership for the development of key capabilities and talent across the organization leading to improved business results and a highly engaged workforce.
Partner with the business unit leadership teams to champion our Edwards culture, demonstrate the principles of our Edwards Secret Sauce, and engage our employees.
Initiate, support and/or lead organizational development strategies, including change management, conflict resolution, teambuilding, executive coaching, intervention, and/or other necessary strategies.
Facilitate organizational structure analysis and redesign businesses to maximize service delivery and higher performance.
In conjunction with the HR Centers of Expertise, provide guidance to management on a wide variety of matters, including employee relations, Human Resources processes and/or company guidelines and/or programs.
Consults with and coach front-line people managers, serving as HR point of contact.
Develop practices to bridge current abilities to future needs. Diagnose individual, team and organization issues and recommend appropriate interventions. Ability to coach and develop all levels of management through performance feedback and effective talent management processes.
Provide HR expertise and/or partner with functional HR Centers of Expertise in various areas such as talent management, employee relations, talent acquisition, organization effectiveness, compensation, benefits, as well as training and development.
Create, implement and/or manage HR programs and services that are aligned with corporate culture, operating model, and corporate HR and business strategies.
When applicable, coordinate the HR aspects of merger and acquisition activities, functional consolidations, or other large HR initiatives for the assigned business groups.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 16 years in Human Resources is required
Must have work experience/education that demonstrates full knowledge and application of effective HR methodologies with a strategic business mindset
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required, as well as working knowledge of HR software tools
Ability to travel approximately 20%: domestic and international travel
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree preferred
Strong working knowledge of US labor law
Financial acumen skills to manage budgets for the department
Strong, demonstrated communication skills and the ability to perform in an environment of ambiguity and change; ability to influence decisions across the business; proactive and proficient ability to diagnose problems and identify appropriate interventions; ability to translate client business plans and goals into human resources capabilities needed to achieve results is essential
Organizational consulting skills, diligence, and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential
Must possess effective analytical skills, time management, conflict resolution skills and a proven record of effective influence and interactions at all levels of an organization

For Illinois (IL), the base pay range for this position is $203,000 to $288,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
