How you’ll make an Impact:
- The position will be responsible for leading the team overseeing and supporting corporate travel and expense report processing.
- Supervise employees and oversee the daily employee travel and expense activities including establishing objectives in support of the company's strategy for the department and ensuring staff is appropriately trained to perform assigned work. Provide progress reports and metrics to management and cross-functional stakeholders
- Proactively identify, develop, and lead the implementation of policies and procedures to streamline the employee travel and expense process.
- Provide superior customer service to Concur users in resolving expense report issues, while enforcing Edwards’ T&E and Corporate Card policies. Provide training to internal customers on Edwards’ T&E policy, expense reimbursement process, and system (Concur).
- Lead all projects related to employee travel and expense process.
- Partner and build cross functional relationships with business partners (e.g., business units, IT, Treasury, Compliance, Travel Services, etc. g) to resolve any system and/or process issues related to the corporate card program. Partner with our banking partners to resolve any customer’s issues related to his/her corporate card, and monitor the credit limits for the overall corporate card program.
- Ensure SOX compliance over the travel and expense area; manage and oversee corrective action on any audit items
- Other incidental duties assigned by Leadership; Participate internal and external audit requests, comply with Legal/HR and Compliance requests (e.g., Sunshine reporting), support the month-end T&E accrual, etc.
- This is an on site position at our Shared Service Center in Cartago, Costa Rica
What you'll need (Required):
- Bachelor's Degree in related field, with 8 years of previous experience in accounts payable including demonstrated track record in supervising accounts payable staff Required
Other: Experience working in a medical device and/or manufacturing industry and work experience leading a team of Travel and Expense for a Global Credit Card Program Preferred
What else we look for (Preferred):
- Proven expertise in Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel and strong knowledge of accounts payable system
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives, as well as mediating and negotiating the needs of other areas to achieve consensus
- Full understanding of procedures as it relates to assigned area of accounts payable including in-depth knowledge of assigned area of responsibility, including processes used across areas of responsibility
- Ability to analyze and identify potential adjustments to improve efficiency
- Demonstrated ability to supervise teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
- Strict attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
- Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
- Must be able to work with cross-functional teams as well as with colleagues from other departments, interacting daily with subordinates and/or peers within similar and/or related functions
- May represent the organization to outside contacts (e.g., vendors, suppliers, contractors, staffing agencies)
