How you will make an impact:
We are seeking an exceptional self-motivated Sr. Principal Algorithm Engineer to join our growing R&D team at Becton, Dickinson and Company located in Irvine, California.
Lead the development of advanced algorithms for patient monitoring using machine learning and signal processing techniques
Perform statistical data analyses to characterize performance of algorithms
Collaborate with clinicians to conduct clinical trials and publish scientific articles.
Collaborate with cross functional team on regulatory submissions and launching products
What you'll need (Required):
Bachelor's Degree in in Engineering or Scientific field, 8 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education -OR-
Master's Degree or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific field, 7 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education Required -OR-
Ph.D. or equivalent in in Engineering or Scientific field, 4 years of experience, including either industry or industry/education
What else we look for (Preferred):
PhD degree in electrical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, statistics, or relevant field is required.
Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB is required.
Strong experience with deep reinforcement learning is required.
Strong experience with general machine learning and deep learning techniques (CNN, LSTM, Transformer, etc.) is required.
Strong experience in digital signal processing, mathematical modeling and algorithm development is required.
Strong statistical data analysis skill is required.
Highly motivated self-starter who is able to achieve results with minimal direction.
Experience working with biomedical time series data (arterial blood pressure, ECG, EEG, etc) is a plus.
Experience with control theory is a plus.
Knowledge of patient monitoring and human physiology is a plus.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.
For California, the base pay range for this position is $145,000 to $205,000 (highly experienced).
