How you’ll make an impact:
- Utilize highly complex tax technical knowledge to review calculations and forms needed to support all aspects of US federal, state, and local tax compliance requirements. Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international tax regulations, keeping abreast of changes in tax laws and their impact on the company.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax-related financial statements, disclosures, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and make recommendations for enhanced solutions on highly complex analysis for tax returns
- Lead the implementation of enhanced solutions on highly complex analysis for tax returns
- Oversee ASC 740 domestic tax provision
- Review quarterly tax account reconciliations utilizing highly complex analysis
- Defend federal and state income tax audit examinations
- Respond to taxing authorities with higher discretion and judgment in providing responses to information document requests, notices, inquiries, and other correspondence
- Provide direction and guidance to project teams to execute larger tax projects, initiatives and/or programs
- Identify and evaluate more complex tax process improvement opportunities
- Manage a team of tax professionals with responsibilities for the company's federal, state and local income tax and other non-income tax returns by examining accounts and records and computing tax liabilities according to applicable laws and regulations.
- Manage subordinate team members and/or tax professionals and/or oversee the work with responsibility for assigned sections of tax compliance, tax audits, tax accounting, and tax planning
- Plan and direct multiple complex tax projects with the accountability for successful completion of all project deliverables
- Lead efforts to optimize processes and systems by assessing needs and developing, proposing and implementing solutions
- Other incidental duties
What you'll need (Required):
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or Economics
- Skill levels exceeding the requirements of the Manager
What else we look for (Preferred):
- CPA
- MBA
- Big 4/Tier 2 experience
- Proven successful project management leadership skills
- Consolidation of federal income tax returns experience
- State income compliance
- Income tax process
- Demonstrated ability to manage one or more teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
- Ability to lead briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $156,000 to $221,000 (highly experienced).
