As part of our Medical Affairs team, you’ll foster internal and external collaboration to generate and disseminate evidence-based clinical practices to help impact patient lives and advance the quality of care. Your scientific curiosity and passion for patients will help us grow our reach and develop innovative solutions for people fighting cardiovascular disease.
You'll be responsible for the medical affairs, professional education and grant allocation strategy and leading the execution of assigned medical affairs activities.
How you'll make an impact:
• Direct medical affairs activities (e.g., scientific communications, lead physician user groups, incubation and launching of novelty therapies. procedural development, grants allocation, IIS) with overall responsibility of developing systems, planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, recommending and implementing changes to methods through manager(s) and/or experienced professionals. Develop a robust strategic talent development and succession planning in alignment with functional growth strategies across the medical affairs organization
• Plan and direct strategic activities including prioritizing and selecting appropriate projects with overall responsibility for meeting business objectives. Lead in identifying risk, developing complex mitigation strategies, best practices, alternative solutions, resolving issues, etc. in collaboration with cross functional and/or matrix teams
• Act as a resource and technical/clinical subject matter expert on complex medical affairs challenges with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Quality, R&D). Actively participate on European TMTT LT and collaborate with cross-functional peers to successfully commercialize TMTT portfolio in the Region.
• Analyze, formulate and present recommendations to advise and guide executive level leadership; develop and deliver executive level communication
• Other incidental duties (member of compassionate case committee, GARC, launch teams, etc.)
What you'll need:
Master's Degree or equivalent relevant experience Required and
Demonstrated track record in people management Required
Ph.D. or equivalent in or M.D. in Cardiology relevant experience Required
Experience working in a pharmaceutical or medical device industry Preferred
What else we look for:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills with ability to drive achievement of objectives
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools and systems
• Expert understanding of business strategy, competitive landscape, regulatory environment, and clinical data while looking beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems
• Expert understanding of cardiovascular diseases and therapies
• Practical knowledge of clinical and biostatics
• Demonstrated ability to direct teams and provide coaching and feedback, including responsibility for all employee actions including hire/fire authority and partnering with HR on all aspects of employee relations
• Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of medical affairs to the business
• Serves as core partner to senior leaders in Business Units, Functional Groups, and Regions
• Strict attention to detail
• Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively escalate issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
• Ability to work and excel within a fast-paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
• Interacts with senior management, and others concerning matters of significance to the company
• Conduct business and technical briefings for senior and top management and for external representatives
• Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers; interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization

• Develop peer, cross functional and cross business relationships to maximize best practice sharing and team effectiveness
• Provide leadership and direction to large cross-functional teams to successfully implement global enterprise systems and related solutions

• Support and solicit input from team members at all levels within the organization
