Edwards was named #1 in the Medical Equipment and Services industry for environmental performance. This recognition comes from JUST Capital, a nonprofit that assesses and ranks the largest publicly traded corporations in the United States on the issues Americans care about most. Annually, JUST Capital polls American citizens to identify the top 20 priorities that constitute good business behavior, and then assesses more than 900 public companies against those priorities. Topics covered in the 2023 analysis included providing workers with a living wage; offering good benefits and supporting work-life balance; protecting worker health and safety; cultivating a diverse and inclusive workplace; creating jobs in the U.S.; and more.

For the third year, Edwards Lifesciences earned a spot on Barron’s annual list of the 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the United States. Barron’s collaborated with Calvert Research and Management, a responsible investing firm, to produce the ranking. The analysis included the 1,000 largest publicly traded companies in the U.S., measured by market capitalization. Calvert Research and Management rated each company on five stakeholder categories – shareholders, employees, customers, community, and planet – and considered more than 230 key performance indicators. The key performance indicators spanned topics including greenhouse gas emissions, workplace safety, workplace diversity, community engagement, business ethics and more. On the 2022 list, Edwards ranked 57th overall.

For the sixth consecutive year, Edwards appeared on the Wall Street Journal’s Management Top 250 list, compiled by the Drucker Institute. For this assessment, the Drucker Institute considered more than 902 U.S.-based companies, which they selected based on market capitalization and membership in the Dow Jones U.S. Total Stock Market Index or the S&P Composite 1500 Index (or both). The aim of the Management Top 250 assessment is to measure corporate effectiveness through performance in the areas of customer satisfaction, employee engagement and development, innovation, social responsibility, and financial strength. The ranking is based on an analysis of 34 data inputs provided by 14 third-party sources. In 2022, Edwards ranked 87th overall.

Edwards is proud to be included in the Top 100 Companies Supporting Healthy Families and Communities, a list compiled by JUST Capital and supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The purpose of this assessment is to identify how U.S. companies have supported the health of workers, their families, and their communities over the past year. In 2022, JUST Capital evaluated the performance of Russell 1000 companies on 10 key issues, from providing fair wages and adequate benefits to contributing to local communities’ development to combating climate change and reducing pollution to protecting families’ health and safety. In 2022, Edwards ranked 83rd overall.

Edwards is pleased to be recognized on the 2022 list of World’s Top Female-Friendly Companies, published by Forbes. In partnership with Statista, Forbes worked to identify the 400 companies excelling in championing women at work. Honorees were selected in part due to their competitive pay and strong career advancement opportunities but also flexible work arrangements which are considered critical to correct gender inequities. For the analysis, Statista surveyed approximately 85,000 women working at multinational institutions in 36 countries to determine which ones excel in gender equality in career advancement opportunities, parental leave, and more. In 2022, Edwards ranked 156th overall.

Edwards Lifesciences was recognized by S&P Global as being in the top 15% of its industry (health care equipment and supplies), among 61 industries and 7,500 companies assessed, of which only 716 companies with top scores qualified for membership. Edwards’ performance earned the company a spot in S&P Global’s annual Sustainability Yearbook, which identifies companies strongly positioned to create long-term shareholder value through corporate sustainability. According to S&P Global, sustainable companies in the health care equipment and supplies sector focus on developing innovative and highly differentiated products and on demonstrating their products’ clinical and economic benefits. Moreover, they adopt consistent, value- and stakeholder-oriented corporate strategies and governance systems based on effective human and intellectual capital management and transparent reporting frameworks. In addition to being a constituent of the S&P Global 500 investment index, Edwards is included in the S&P 500 ESG Index.

Edwards was included in the inaugural Humankind 100 list, which recognizes the one hundred U.S. public companies with the highest Humankind Values. The Humankind Value, a proprietary metric created by Humankind Investments LLC, provides an estimate of the overall dollar amount a company creates for investors, consumers, employees, and society at large. It is based on a quantitative analysis that calculates the comprehensive economic value of a company based not only upon its financial performance metrics but also on the costs and benefits to society from conducting its business. This calculation also attempts to take into account the Humankind Value of the company’s critical supply chain partners. In 2022, Edwards ranked 89th overall.

Edwards received recognition as part of ESG Book’s inaugural Top 100 ESG Companies in 2022. ESG Book is a sustainability data and technology company, incubated by Arabesque in 2018. ESG Book compiled the Top 100 ESG Companies ranking by examining the companies within its platform that have a market value of at least USD $10 billion. There are three components to each company’s ranking: the ESG Score measures how well companies are managed on sustainability issues; the Temperature Score measures companies’ climate impact; and the GHG emissions component considers the reported and estimated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of companies. The result of this three-pronged approach is meant to provide a holistic view of the ESG and climate performance of the globe’s corporate ESG leaders. In 2022, Edwards ranked 20th overall.
